Drowning in school

Hello readers:)
So those of you who are in VPSA know that this is a pretty stressful time of year. It's right in the middle, and we are loosing our steam. I am in four online classes, which is work enough, and can't imagine what its like for those of you who take 6, 7 classes.

Right now in Omnibus we are studying "The deepest subject that we have touched yet" as my dad says. And it is the dreaded...Plato. Why didn't they do it at the beginning of the year, when we were all over achievers who lived for straight As? Good question. I don't know. What confuses me even more is that Omnibus I is known to be harder than a lot of the other ones. Great. So our first impression of Junior High is Herodotus and Socrates and swimmies and some of the deepest, goriest stuff we'll do in a while. Making sense yet? Didn't think so.

So that's my mini-rant about Omnibus, which is actually my favorite subject, believe it or not. It comes in on my list next to Latin, which is also a very aggravating and mind boggling study. I have had four years of Latin and the fact that it is all the sudden getting super hard isn't exactly gradual. Or subtle.

But anyway, this is just an encouragement note to those of us who feel like we're in a sea of Plato and Plutarch and 3rd declension and Algebra and Paleontology and feel like you'll never get out, well, newsflash, you will. One day, at least. Whether that day is when your final grades come in, or graduation, or college graduation, it'll be one day. And the more I think about it, this is the foundation of our entire life, the preparation for adulthood, our job that we just can't afford to get fired from. So when you're over there trying to swallow Herodotus page by page, just be thinking to yourself....One Day.

  2. Great Post! With 6 classes, school can occasionally rule my life, so I know how you feel!
